Antony Snootley[1] is a male giant anteater and a minor antagonist in Zootopia 2.
Physical Appearance[]
Antony has black parted hair on top of his head in front of his ears, and brown eyes. He wears a red jacket and has gold rings on his fingers and a gold tooth.
Role in the Film[]
Antony smuggles Gary De'Snake into Zootopia. He is spotted by Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, who chase after him after their cover is blown.
Personality[]
Antony has somewhat of an anxious personality, as he’s always on his toes about doing a smuggle job and getting caught by the police. When he thinks that Judy and Nick are a couple who are trespassing in harbor, he (pretending to be an inspector in said harbor), orders them to leave, not wanting anyone interloping around places he’s infiltrated.
Antony does have an emotional side though, as shown when he’s tricked into thinking that Finnick, who is pretending to be Nick and Judy’s son, is paraplegic, he immediately shows sympathy. He is also quite gullible, not catching on to Judy and Nick's hammy and peculiar acting until he sees the most obvious signs that he is being lied to.
When he smuggles Gary into the city, it’s unknown why, either because he doesn’t judge reptiles like a majority of mammals or because Gary paid him and Antony only saw Gary as a simple client.
Relationships[]
Judy Hopps[]
Antony came to resent Judy for trying to bust his smuggling scheme.
Nick Wilde[]
Antony came to resent Nick for trying to bust his smuggling scheme and for playing on his emotions with his fabricated handicapped son story. Later in the prison, when Antony sees Nick and Nibbles escaping from their cells, he alarmed the guards about it, seemingly for no other reason than petty resentment over Nick's involvement in his arrest.
Nibbles Maplestick[]
Antony and Nibbles don't really have a relationship with each other, but when he sees in prison how she and Nick escape from their cells, he alerts the guards about it, simply because he is still bitter about Nick's involvement in his arrest. He also calls Nibbles 'a Woodchuck', much to her annoyance, although it seems more like Antony made an honest mistake rather than he was trying to insult her.
Gary De'Snake[]
It’s unknown what Antony’s relationship with Gary is like, though he must be willing to smuggle Gary into Zootopia either out of sympathy or for money.
Finnick[]
At first, Antony felt sorry for Finnick when he pretends to be a handicapped child, but becomes resentful when he finds out it was a con.
Trivia[]
- Antony is the only anteater ever seen in the film.
- Antony's name is a play on "ant", "anteater", and "Anthony".
- In real life, anteaters do not have teeth.
- In the teaser he was seen doing the iconic Mr beast meme pose
