Zootopia Land in Shanghai would seem to still be a thing

So it's 10:30 pm and should already have been asleep. For some reason I knew I couldn't rest yet.

I realized it had been a while since I had heard anything about Zootopia Land. I did some quick googling and found that it went ahead - despite certain issues.

Thank crackers for that!

The first piece of steel was raised vertical back in June. Good gracious, I am so out of touch! Last month some aerial footage was released showing some pretty interesting stuff. There's a lot of speculation looking in from the outside but I'm just happy it's still going strong!

Here's a link to a video that renders a more comprehensive coverage of this. Below is a snip from a 360 view of the site which can be found here.

Z.A.P. 114

Hello, my fellow Zootopians! Prepare to get Z.A.P.ped! It's time for this week's edition of the Zootopia Appreciation Post, or Z.A.P. for short. Every Saturday, I'm gonna be posting a different Zootopia-related topic that we can all discuss.

For today's topic, I would like to talk about Little Rodentia. 🐭🐭🐭

Little Rodentia is a town for small mammals, mainly rodents, in the city of Zootopia. It contains numerous buildings which, to the larger residents of Zootopia, appear very small, which contributes to the name Little Rodentia.

Holey aesthetics of Swiss cheese can be seen extensively throughout Little Rodentia, including numerous taller buildings resembling skyscrapers. These buildings resemble a model town or miniature-scale model of a city …

For today's topic, I would like to talk about the Rainforest District. 🌧️🌧️🌧️

The Rainforest District is one of the least-cultivated districts of Zootopia, containing large amounts of foliage and natural water features. The district also contains a vast network of sprinklers that spray water from above to give the environment a wet appearance. It has numerous means of transport, including zeppelins and a cablecar which leads to Savanna Central. These are largely due to the impracticality of building road…

For today's topic, I would like to talk about Tundra Town. ❄️❄️❄️

Tundratown is the icy Easternmost district of Zootopia, characterized by snow, ice, and a large number of Arctic mammals living there, such as polar bears and arctic shrews.

Tundratown is notable for its arctic climate, as well as the onion-domed buildings which make up its architecture. Another notable feature of the district is "Flow Ped", a special kind of transport for mammals via floating ice caps.

Other means of transport in this distr…

For today's topic, I would like to talk about Sahara Square. ☀️☀️☀️

This post is for this week.

Sahara Square is a sweltering desert oasis and resort district, designed for leisure, recreation, and other activities for Zootopians. Its architecture is composed of intricate clay and rock, mixed with lights and glass textures.

It has extremely high temperatures, reaching up to 102°F in one day. It is inhabited by a number of desert-dwelling mammals, such as camels.

It achieves its arid conditions thanks to a m…

For today's topic, I would like to talk about Larry.

This post is for last week.

As you know, Larry is a male wolf who works as a security guard at Cliffside Asylum.

Larry is seen among the wolves guarding the entrance to the asylum. When Judy induces Gary to start howling, he rushes to stop him, attempting to prevent him and the other wolves from starting a "howl" and losing focus, but ultimately fails and starts howling along.

Interesting fact: Until the end of production, Larry had not been properly name…

For today's topic, I would like to talk about Gary.

This post is from last week.

As you know, Gary is a male wolf who works as a security guard at Cliffside Asylum.

He is seen near the middle of the film keeping watch over the entrance to the asylum, along with other wolves. He is alerted of Nick's presence as the fox slips by him and hides behind the gate. Gary catches Nick's scent and starts to track him down, but Judy begins howling to distract him. He joins in with his own howls, but is quickly silence…

For today's topic, I would like to talk about Zootopian restaurants that we're cut from the film.

This post is for two weeks ago.

Bug-Burga is a fast food restaurant in Zootopia. It is the predators' favorite place to eat plant-based proteins and all ground up insect protein that they love. The restaurant is not shown in the film, but its existence was confirmed by the creators. While the restaurant itself is not actually seen in the film, a discarded Bug-Burga box can be seen on the ground in an alley du…
