Hello, my fellow Zootopians! Prepare to get Z.A.P.ped! It's time for this week's edition of the Zootopia Appreciation Post, or Z.A.P. for short. Every Saturday, I'm gonna be posting a different Zootopia-related topic that we can all discuss.

For today's topic, I would like to talk about the Zootopia Police Department.

The Zootopia Police Department is the main police force in Zootopia. There are police stations in each district of Zootopia. Precinct 1 is located in the heart of Zootopia and serves as headquarters to the ZPD. It is a large building with ample space for press conferences and other similar events in its lobby alone.

The headquarters has a number of unique rooms seen, mentioned, or deducted in the film. These include personal off…

For today's topic, I would like to talk about the Department of Mammal Vehicles.

Apologies for not doing this on Saturday.

The Department of Mammal Vehicles (DMV) is a government agency that administers vehicle registration and driver licensing in Zootopia. Due to the entire staff being sloths, progress at the DMV is nearly stagnant, which can lead to frustration for its customers.

The business is first seen when Judy and Nick go there to learn the owner of the vehicle Emmitt Otterton was last seen in. To …

For today's topic, I would like to talk about Fru Fru.

Apologies for not doing this on Saturday.

Fru Fru is the daughter of feared crime boss Mr. Big. She is first seen shopping with her friends in Little Rodentia at Targoat and Mousy's where she is almost crushed by a "giant" (compared to her), runaway donut sign. She is saved in the nick of time by Officer Judy Hopps, who compliments her hair.

For today's topic, I would like to talk about Mr. Renato Manchas.

Apologies for not doing this on Saturday.

As you know, Mr. Big orders Manchas to pick up Emmitt Otterton, who wanted to meet with his client, Mr. Big in person about an urgent matter. At 8:15 PM that night, while driving Otterton to his destination in Tundratown from The Mystic Spring Oasis, Manchas overhears a commotion in the back seat; before he can investigate further, he is suddenly and viciously attacked by Otterton, who had just beco…

Apologies for not doing this on Saturday.

As you know, Emmit Otterton is one of 14 missing mammals that have disappeared across Zootopia.

On his way to discuss an important matter with Mr. Big, he is shot by sniper Doug Ramses with a pellet containing Night Howler serum. It is implied that he knew he had been shot with the serum and what it was, and tried to warn his driver before succumbing to its effects and becoming "savage".

She heads to Chief Bogo's office and pleads with him to have someone find her husband, Emmitt Otterton, one of the missing mammals, who has been missing for ten days. During Judy's first day at the ZPD, a muzzled wolf is seen being taken through the Police Department lobby by a tiger officer. The wolf protests through his muzzle that his opponent bared his teeth first, to which the officer rolls his eyes.

Apologies for not doing this on Saturday.

As you know, the Junior Ranger Scouts is a group of young prey mammals in Zootopia that is similar to the Boy Scouts.

The group is first mentioned by Nick around the middle of the film as he tells Judy about his childhood. As a kit, Nick wanted nothing more than to be a scout, so his mother "scraped together" enough money to buy Nick a brand new uniform.

For today's topic, I would like to talk about the tame collars.

As you know, in the original early version of Zootopia, the bigotry and unequal treatment of the predator population was made very clear. Mandatory for all predators, tame collars were made to keep predators from acting out of aggression and potentially hurting prey animals by shocking them when they became enraged or overly emotional. It has a light representing the predator's emotions: green meaning "calm", yellow signaling a warning, and re…

Hi. I was just wondering, does anyone remember a fanfic of Judy and Finnick in which she visits Finnick and gets him to wear his elephant costume and after he begrudgingly does so and toots per her desire? Then she asks him to do it one more time and he refuses, but then stares at her for a moment before tooting one final time? Judy then tells him he is so cute and hugs him and he growls, then squirms around before growling again and Judy tells him, "Finnick, stop. It's only a hug." I am trying to find it, but I cannot seem to. Anybody care to tell me if they remember or what happened to it? I really wish to read it again.

For today's topic, I would like to talk about the diets of the citizens of Zootopia.

As you know, the mammals in this society are civilized and moralistic. Their universe is very similar to our own. We eat food, we drink stuff, and so do they. Which begs the question: What do the mammals eat?

For animals that are vegetarians, they survive off of a diet of vegetables and fruits. This seems to be the case for the prey mammals, which seems simple enough.

And now, we need to address the elephant in the room, a…

Now, I love the fact that Nick and Judy are partners on the police force, but after watching the movie again, I noticed that the duo had done some questionable things.

First, when Judy uses the recording on the carrot pen to blackmail Nick, there is audio evidence of Nick committing a crime punishable by jailtime. Since Nick never gets jailed, Judy should not be able to stay as a cop since she tried to cover up a crime. Ma…

    Zootopia Oscar Posters 2019

My fellow Zootopians, I am so angry! I look forward every year to seeing the Zootopia version of the movies nominated for the Oscars, and they didn't do it this year! Why?!

It can't be because Zootopia has declining popularity. If it did, Disney wouldn't be pumping out more graphic novels. There's three coming out this year.

And it's not like Disney didn't think that any of the movies had animal pun potential. I mean, here are some that I came up with:

But even when they're pure fox and pure rabbit some picture books have these two species laughed at, they're in plenty of picture books that could inspire doubts of what to let these fox and rabbit mixed children do. Playing together or chased by something that would eat them in real life, it's the scenes of excitement shown in their enemies that would ruin the  movie. For today's topic, I would like to talk about the skunk-butt rug that was given to Mr. Big.

Apologies for not doing this on Saturday.

So, we all had a good laugh about Nick selling Mr. Big a skunk-butt rug, and how he took it as a sign of disrespect. My question though is: Where did he get it? It didn't sound as if Mr. Wilde had procured a woven rug made from skunk fur (which would be less odd, especially if animals in this world often sold their own natural byproducts to make a living, e.g. a cow selling…

    Zootopia Land

    February 4, 2019 by Ggianoli

Hello, my fellow Zootopia fans! I'm sure you all heard, Shanghai Disneyland is confirmed to be in the construction of a Zootopia Land! It was confirmed in January 2019 and will start construction sometime this year! It's really cool that a land based on Zootopia is behind made, only that it's in a foreign place. Zootopia is successful in China, due to being the highest-grossing animated film there with $236 million, reason that it got up to $1 billion worldwide. Would it be cool if we actually get that here in Walt Disney World in Animal Kingdom? I hope it happens! What do you guys think?

Hello, my fellow Zootopians! Prepare to get Z.A.P.ped! It's time for this week's edition of the Zootopia Appreciation Post, or Z.A.P. for short. Every Saturday, I'm gonna be posting a different Zootopia-related topic that we can all discuss.

For today's topic, I would like to talk about the hidden message in Zootopia and why it is awesome.

Apologies for not doing this on Saturday.

So, unless you were born yesterday, in which case, welcome to the world, little baby, then you've probably noticed that things are not always what they seem. And this applies to Zootopia. At first glance, it might seem like just another animated movie about anthropomorphic animals or a movie that plays with the somewhat clichéd buddy cop dynamic. But, in the words of J…

For today's topic, I would like to talk about Gazelle.

Apologies for not doing this on Saturday.

Anyway, are you familiar with Gazelle? Greatest singer of our lifetime? Angel with horns? 😆 (Who else read that in Clawhauser's voice?)

Anyway, the first time that we see, er, um, hear Gazelle is when Judy listens to her song, "Try Everything" on her iPaw device, while riding the train to Zootopia. When she finally arrives in the city, Gazelle is shown on a building's jumbo Tron in a video welcoming newcomers to…

For today's topic, I would like to talk about the physique of Judy Hopps.

There's a couple of questions I have about this matter. First, let's take a look at this picture of everyone's favorite bunny cop.

She's beautiful, isn't she? I love her so much!

    (Clears throat) Excuse me.

So, I did some research and found out that Judy is supposed to be a European Rabbit. Although, some fans have disputed that she may not be any particular breed. Anyway, according to Wikipedia, the largest reported height of the Euro…

For today's topic, I would like to talk about Mr. Big.

But first, I would like to announce that this is the first Zootopia Appreciation Post of 2019! So, I wanted to start the new year with something big, with Mr. Big!

    (Rim shot)

Sorry for the bad pun. Anyway, today we're talking about the most feared crime boss in Tundratown. Now, keep in mind that this arctic shrew may be small in size, but the mind behind the body is very big. He's the owner of Tundratown Limousine Service and is respected by many in the …

I'll start off by saying to you all:

In other words, happy new year! Or should I say, Happy Zoo Year!

Woo! It's 2019. I can hardly believe it's here already. Hopefully, it's another step closer to that sequel we are all desperate for. For years I've seen New Years as just another day - not anymore. I was never big on on New Years resolutions, I thought they were just plain tacky. This year is different.

    I want to:

    - Get my full car license

    - Get a new PC

    - Stick to my diet

    - Finish my first book

    - (one super secret thing)

    - Lastly, I'll be gunning for that lovely, shiny, fantastic 365 day badge.

Anyway, that's quite enough about me. All of you are so wonderful to me, putting up with all the [ahem] that's comes with me being a miserable old [cough]. I …

For today's topic, I would like to talk about Olympic sports in Zootopia.

I was wondering since the city has different climates year round, would they possibly host their own Olympic event? Imagine it! All twelve of Zootopia unique ecosystems representing their side in various sports! Plus, there would be different sized team members competing in sports appropriate for their size. Like a mouse ice skating, or a wolf curling, or a hippo sled racing. The possibilities are endless!

    There could even be differ…
