"Clueless" is a comic based on Zootopia. It is featured in the graphic novel Disney Zootopia: A Hard Day's Work. The story takes place in Judy Hopps' childhood.

Plot[]

Judy Hopps is at school with her classmates. The teacher, Miss Coney, dismisses the class for the day, but reminds everyone about a math quiz the next day and that she's still looking for a "Star of the Week". Judy approaches her and asks her if something is wrong, noting that she seemed distracted all day. Miss Coney admits she was, and asks Judy how she knew. Judy then points out that the teacher has been dunking her chalk in her coffee and writing on the chalkboard with a powdered donut. Miss Coney says she's been distracted, because she seems to have misplaced her favorite necklace. The necklace was beat up, but it belonged to her grandmother. She remembers last wearing it on Monday, but hasn't seen it since. She's looked everywhere, but it's just lost. Judy then surmises that the necklace might have been stolen by someone and announces that she's on the case. And then thinks to herself that solving the mystery will make her "Star of the Week".

Later, at home, Judy is looking for something in her bedroom. She finds her detective kit and says she's been looking for an excuse to use it for weeks.

The next day, Judy is at school, reading her detective book, Solve A Mystery, which recommends that she wear a disguise for her investigation. Her disguise consists of gray pants, a tan trenchcoat, a red detective's cap, a pair of glasses, a fake elephant trunk, and a magnifying glass. Judy hopes that no one will recognize her through her disguise. She strolls through the school's playground. The other students watch in silence, before laughing at her disguise. Judy then moves on to Plan B. The book says that sometimes the direct approach is best, to which Judy says, "Now it tells me". She interrogates various students, who claim that they've heard a few things about a suspicious young raccoon and new student named Robbie Ringer.

Judy takes notes and reads again from her book, which suggests she do a stakeout as the next step. The young rabbit follows the young raccoon and sees him going back to the school in the evening, which Judy finds odd, but suspects he's there to steal something else. Robbie knocks on a door and the school janitor lets him in. Judy suspects the janitor is in on the crime and thinks, "This is gonna make my career, and I'm not even out of elementary school!"

The next morning, Miss Coney is about to start class, when Judy raises her hand and asks if she can speak with her in private. Judy says she doesn't want to be a snitch, but she knows who took the necklace. She says it was Robbie, but to the young rabbit's surprise, Miss Coney says that she now knows who to thank.

At the front of the class, she holds up the necklace and asks Robbie if he has something to say. Robbie explains that he found the necklace in the hallway, with the clasp broken, and that he took it to his dad, who's a jeweler, to fix it. He says that Miss Coney has always been nice to him and he wanted to do something nice in return. And that it was supposed to be a secret. Grateful, Miss Coney awards Robbie the Star of the Week, and in celebration of Robbie's gift and Judy's detective work, has the school janitor bring in ice cream for the class. Judy remembers something she read in her detective book, "At the end of the day, a good cop knows where the credit really goes." Judy apologizes to Robbie for thinking that he stole the necklace. Robbie forgives her, saying that he knows she was just trying to help Miss Coney. Judy then asks if he wants to play Cops and Robbers after school. Robbie accepts, but only if he gets to play the cop, which Judy agrees to. They are shown playing the game as Judy remembers something else she read in the book, "Always remember; no case is a bust, if you get to discover a new friend to trust!"
