DMV sloths

The DMV sloths are sloths that work at the Department of Mammal Vehicles in Zootopia. They appear to be lazy but in reality they are working hard slowly due to their species.

Role in the film[]

Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde visit the DMV shortly after obtaining the license plate of the vehicle Emmitt Otterton was last seen in. As Judy has no access to police systems, Nick calls in a favor from his friend Flash Slothmore whom he touts as the "fastest guy in there".

Upon entry, Judy is shocked to see that all of the employees are sloths, shown doing all manner of tasks extremely slowly, much to the frustration of their customers.

Nick condescendingly tells her that just because Flash is a sloth doesn't mean that he can't be fast and reminds her that in Zootopia, "anyone can be anything". However, it is likely that sloths can't be fast unlike other animals in Zootopia due to their species.
