- “My shop! It was just robbed!”
- ―Frantic Pig
The Frantic pig is a male pig and an incidental character in Zootopia. He is a florist who owns the shop Flora & Fauna. The game Zootopia: Crime Files gives him two names: Paul[1] and Raoul.[2]
Physical Appearance[]
The Frantic pig is a slightly obese pig with pink skin and floppy ears that are darker in color than the rest of his complexion. He wears a untucked, collared, lavender shirt that is patterned with flowers and his shop's word mark, as well as dark blue pants. His eyes are green.
Role in the Film[]
His shop was robbed by Duke Weaselton in order for the latter to source the Night howlers needed for the production of Doug's serum.
The Frantic Pig runs out of his shop and tries to convince Judy Hopps to give chase, which she eventually does.
Later in the film, he appears as a protester at Gazelle's peace rally, and gets into an argument with a leopard after he rudely tells her to "Go back to the forest!", while Judy tries in vain to break up the argument.[3]
Role in Zootopia: Crime Files[]
- “Rodney said he sold his pawn shop to some development, and if I was smart I would too. If I was smart? I graduated at the top of my horticulture class!”
- ―Raoul, Seeds of Doubt
The Frantic Pig is present as a suspect in Case 2 in the video game Zootopia: Crime Files, his identity evidenced by his caption as "Owner of Flora & Fauna". His role differs between both versions of the game.
Information[]
- 4' 1" tall
- Squinty eyes
- Messy eater
Case #2: Melting Messes[]
The Frantic Pig (named Paul here) sold Flora & Fauna to Sequoia Towers and, with the motive of being paid even more money, tried to convince Jerry Jumbeaux, Jr. to sell his café by vandalizing it and scaring him into thinking there were vandals everywhere. He failed to do so and was arrested for vandalizing the café. He later asks if they have any peanuts.
Case #2(v2): Seeds of Doubt[]
His neighbor Rodney sold his shop to Sequoia Towers and, with the motive of being paid even more money, tried to convince the Frantic Pig (named Raoul here) to sell Flora & Fauna by vandalizing it and scaring him into thinking there were vandals everywhere. It failed, and Rodney was later arrested.
Trivia[]
- Josh Dallas, the actor who does the voice for the Frantic Pig, is the husband of Ginnifer Goodwin, who provides the voice of Judy Hopps.
- Although Rich Moore has tweeted that Frantic Pig is also the pig protester at the peace rally, there are notable visual differences that suggest the animators were not firmly directed to keep these two appearances consistent resulting in a continuity error. The protester pig has a more rounded face with a small chin and light blue eyes while Frantic Pig has a more oblong face with a larger chin and dark green eyes.
