John Lasseter is the executive producer for Zootopia.
Career[]
Lasseter was born in Hollywood, California and grew up in Whittier, California. By having a mother that was an art teacher at Bell Gardens High School, Lasseter was able to pick up animation at a very young age.
Lasseter began his career as an animator for The Walt Disney Company. His employment there came to an end when he unintentionally upset some of his superiors during his pursuit of CGI, a very new concept at the time.
Soon after being fired, Lasseter was hired by Lucasfilm Computer Graphics (later renamed Pixar Graphics Group) where he collaborated with Ed Catmull for some time, eventually culminating in the first feature length CG film of all time, Toy Story.
Lasseter made a return to the studio he was once fired from, being named chief creative officer of both Walt Disney Feature Animation and Pixar when the latter was purchased by Disney in 2006.
