The Razorbacks are male wild pigs that were cut from Zootopia.
Development[]
During early development, in which Nick Wilde was planned to be the main protagonist of the film, the Razorbacks were an elite police force made up of wild pigs, and were minor antagonists. Because of Nick's illegal deeds, they were always trying to catch him and bring him into custody.
They were nicknamed "sniffers" due to their excellent sense of smell, which led to Nick's fear of them.
After the focus of the film switched to Judy Hopps, they were scrapped from the final cut.
Trivia[]
- Their title is a play on "razorback", a term used for a feral or wild pig.
- As evidenced by their uniforms, the Razorbacks' headquarters may have been at the T.U.S.K. Government Building, a location that was scrapped as well.
- A character strongly resembling the Razorbacks can be seen in promotional artwork for Zootopia 2. [1]
