Zootopia Wiki

Hello, my fellow Zootopians! Prepare to get Z.A.P.ped! It's time for this week's edition of the Zootopia Appreciation Post, or Z.A.P. for short. Every Saturday, I'm gonna be posting a different Zootopia-related topic that we can all discuss.

For today's topic, I would like to talk about the Clarence.

InfoClarence

This post is for fifteen weeks ago.

In Case 13: Wi-Fi Jam, Judy and Nick see a sticky honey trail at the Palm Hotel and go to Clarence the doormammal to see if he knows anything about it. When asked about the honey trail in his lobby, Clarence says he was away from his post when the trail was made. He was shopping for a new laptop when his old laptop became defunct at an inopportune moment. Nick knows that being away from his post when a criminal appeared will not affect his performance review and Judy suggests they take a closer look at the hotel.

Later, Judy and Nick ask him again if he has seen anything suspicious. Taken umbrage at it, he says that there were many attendees since the Wi-Fi was out and he can't tell them who all comes and goes. As he says, he is not always at his post. In fact, he has to leave now for his afternoon vegetarian snack. When he leaves, he asks them to look at the Naturalist Club Pool. He wants to be left alone of Judy saying why. Judy sees it as a good point and they go investigate.

After the case is solved, Clarence tells them that he lost his ticket for the fourth race at the Palms Hotel and asks them to find it. Judy thinks the ticket is a gambling ticket and sarcastically asks what else is the police force for. They give it to the lab to analyze and Clawhauser tells them that the ticket are the horses' names from the fourth race, "Clarence's Folly", "Happy Go Clarence", and "Four Score and Clarence Years Ago". Judy and Nick know who it belongs to and return it to Clarence, who thanks them for finding his race ticket. After that, he realizes that the horses all lost and it's useless to him now. Judy asks Nick if he thinks citizens will ever fully appreciate what they do, to which Nick says, "Don't bet on it."
