Hello, my fellow Zootopians! Prepare to get Z.A.P.ped! It's time for this week's edition of the Zootopia Appreciation Post, or Z.A.P. for short. Every Saturday, I'm gonna be posting a different Zootopia-related topic that we can all discuss.
For today's topic, I would like to talk about the official announcement for the release of Zootopia 2.
Also, this is my 300th Zootopia Appreciation Post! 🎉🎊🎆🦊🐰
So, I thought this would be the perfect time to talk about the sequel's release date.
First off, let's look at this fan-made logo. Credit goes to the Zootopia Ideas Wiki. It looks beautiful, doesn't it?
This is what I think Disney will use now that the sequel is greenlit.
Next, how Awesome is it that we now have an official release date for Zootopia 2?! November 26, 2025 is the big day! All of us Zootopians will be counting down the days until we get to visit this Wonderful world again!
Third, if Disney has November 26, 2025 as the release date, then that means that the plot, animation, and voice recordings are pretty much done. So, only those involved in the production know what will happen. Including, if a certain fox and rabbit duo are more than just friends. 🦊❤️🐰
Fourth, besides our favorite duo, who do you think will reappear? Stu and Bonnie Hopps? Gazelle? (Hopefully.) Finick? (Hopefully.) Duke Weaselton? Lionheart? Chief Bogo? Clawhauser? Flash? Mr. Big? Fru Fru? Well, if Zootopia+ is any indication, then we will see most, if not, all of the characters from the first movie!
Fifth, who would be the villain in the sequel? Could we see Bellwether escape from prison, maybe with the help of Doug and his hench-rams to exact her revenge on Judy and Nick? Well, maybe if it's pulled off like Chuckles' escape from Zootopia Crime Files. And also, what would her revenge plot be? She can't exactly take them both out without arousing suspicion. Plus, in the end, the creators would have to go with the clichéd ending where Bellwether's plan is foiled and she gets sent back to prison. Personally, I don't think Bellwether should be brought back, unless the creators put a unique spin on her in the sequel. Something to make her stand out from other returning villains in animated movies. Otherwise, we should have a new character be the villain. I would be okay with that, as long as they're not a generic hammy villain.
Sixth, what new locations would we get to see? The other sections and districts of Zootopia that weren't explored in the first movie? Or could we even see some of the other cities outside of Zootopia? I was amazed by the level of world-building for Zootopia, and I know the creators can go even further.
And finally, how many sequels should Zootopia have? I think it should have at least four movies, like Toy Story or Hotel Transylvania.
Only time will tell as to what the future of Zootopia will be. Let's hope it's a good and long future!
