Hello, my fellow Zootopians! Prepare to get Z.A.P.ped! It's time for this week's edition of the Zootopia Appreciation Post, or Z.A.P. for short. Every Saturday, I'm gonna be posting a different Zootopia-related topic that we can all discuss.
For today's topic, I would like to talk about Detective Oates.
Apologies for not doing this on Saturday.
Detective Oates is a male horse in the game Zootopia: Crime Files. He is a detective that assists Judy and Nick.
Making his debut in Slashy Tires, Detective Oates assists Judy and Nick in every case onward by speaking in metaphors that only Judy seems to understand. Some people might not like him, because he's not straightforward with things. But from an intellectual standpoint, I can understand the detective's figures of speech. He's wise beyond his years.
Judy also seems to idolize him, while Nick appears to be annoyed by him. Why would Nick be annoyed by Oates? Is Nick jealous? Jealous that someone else has Judy's attention? Shippers unite! 🦊❤️🐰
What is the detective's backstory? How did he join the force? Has he been part of it for years? Many important questions!
I wish that the game hadn't been cancelled, so we could have seen some more of him. And maybe learn about his beliefs and sunny optimism.
