| Weather walls |
The weather walls are constructs in Zootopia that are responsible for maintaining the city's diverse climates.
Background[]
The weather walls were invented by Agnes De'Snake when she founded the city. Credit for her work was taken by Ebenezer Lynxley, who was believed to be the one responsible for its creation and the city's founding for the following 100 years.
Description[]
The weather walls are massive, stories-high walls that completely divide Tundratown and Sahara Square. They function similarly to an air conditioner, allowing Tundratown to maintain its frigid temperature with "snowblowers"[1], while the heat it generates on the other side maintains Sahara Square's dry and searing atmosphere.
It has a tunnel on the bottom for vehicles to pass through, and a train track for the Zootopia Express, allowing citizens to easily travel between the two districts.
The weather walls separating the Rainforest District and Savanna Central from each other and Sahara Square/Tundratown are not featured as prominently in either film.
Role in the Film[]
One weather wall briefly appears as Judy Hopps passes in and out of it as her train drives through Sahara Square and into Tundratown. It makes a more prominent appearance in Zootopia 2.
Role in Zootopia+[]
Hopp on Board[]
Stu Hopps passes through the weather walls trying to catch up to Molly, who made her way into the train to follow Judy while Bonnie Hopps drives after them.
