An antique book detailing the city's weather walls is set to be displayed at the gala, which is hosted by the Lynxley family, who are descendants of Ebenezer Lynxley, the proclaimed creator of the wall. After learning that Gary De'Snake plans to infiltrate the gala to steal it, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde attend as well, going undercover in formal attire. When they confront Gary, they learn that the book holds a secret that could change the reputation of snakes. Judy decides to trust Gary and lets him go instead of arresting him at the risk of making her and Nick fugitives when they escape with him. As he escapes, he leaves the book behind.[2][1]
