Plot[]

As Nick falls from the sky, he acknowledges that the readers are wondering how he got into this predicament. He says it began like a lot of his adventures, and the story shifts to the beginning of the day to explain how it all started.

At the ZPD's morning assembly, Chief Bogo assigns all the officers their tasks for the day. He assigns Judy and Nick to View Point Terrace, a set of condominiums, to investigate a rash of thefts. Judy asks if Bogo gave them someone else's caseload, as it sounds quite interesting. Bogo says that Mr. Muller, who Judy and Nick previously arrested, informed the ZPD that the theft victims at the condo hadn't realized they were being stolen from, just like the members of the Spinybrook country club. He also mentions that the condos are right by Little Rodentia, saying that he wouldn't want someone like Officer McHorn stampeding around there. Judy can't believe that they were assigned to the case because of their small size.

At the condo, Judy becomes suspicious of a bellhop, who notices her writing down notes about him being a possible suspect. He assures the two officers that he is just a button pusher. Judy and Nick then interview the victims of the theft. Mr. Dunder's stereo is gone, Irma was robbed of a set of figurines, Dr. Trini is missing jewelry, and Mr. Aardvar lost some artwork that he collected. Judy then spots someone gliding outside the condo and calls Nick - who got roped into an impromptu therapy session with Dr. Trini - telling him to look outside. They see the flying squirrel duo Burl Squirrel filming themselves performing stunts, and realize they are the same two daredevils they kicked out of Tripp Zebrando's event.

Judy tells Nick to look at the window latches, which Dr. Trini explains open from the outside so window washers can get inside the building in case of an emergency. Judy suspects that the squirrels are the thieves. She looks them up on their social media account, and deduces that since everyone is used to seeing them glide around, they come to the building at night to steal as much as they can carry. She suggests holding a stakeout later, but Nick has the idea to go undercover and question them, disguising himself as their fan and "number one hype guy". The squirrels are impressed and have an idea for a new video - jumping off the roof of View Point Terrace. Nick is terrified as they equip him with a gliding suit and assure him it is safe. They encourage him to look for fans to take pictures of them, and they all jump off.

Nick initially cannot control the suit and plummets, but starts to get the hang of it. As the three glide around, Nick tells Judy via a hidden microphone that he doesn’t think the squirrels are the thieves. Judy accuses Nick of becoming “bros” with them and forgetting he’s undercover, but Nick replies that in order to keep gliding, they have to keep their arms free and can’t carry anything because they wouldn’t be able to stay in the air with the extra weight. Nick then sees a flying drone and follows it, thinking he’s got a lead. He sees the drone go into the condo, take jewelry, and leave. Nick asks the squirrels if they’ve seen the drone, and they say they assumed it was controlled by some of their fans trying to see them in action.

Nick tells Judy to look around on the street for someone working a remote control. Judy finds an ox, who she realizes has been the thief the entire time. She rushes to arrest him, but he flees and throws drones at her. She then alerts Nick that the ox is headed toward Little Rodentia. As the ox starts stomping around in the tiny city, he is caught and lifted into the air by Nick and the squirrels. A few minutes later, the ox is arrested, and is revealed to be yet another criminal who was promised boxes of money from an anonymous animal in exchange for valuables. Nick finds one of Mr. Aardvar’s stolen paintings that hasn’t been returned to him yet. Judy asks Nick to return the painting, as she does not want to go all the way back up to Aardvar’s apartment. They play rock, paper, scissors to decide who will return it. Judy wins, so Nick has to do it.
