The Zootopia Police Department, also simply known as the ZPD, is a police department in the city of Zootopia. Their duties as upholders of the law range from finding missing mammals to parking enforcement.
The Zootopia Police Department is the main police force in Zootopia. There are police stations in each district of Zootopia. Precinct 1 is located in the heart of Zootopia and serves as headquarters to the ZPD.
Headquarters[]
The ZPD's headquarters is located in Division one, close to the center of Zootopia. It is a large building with ample space for press conferences and other similar events in its lobby alone.
Rooms[]
The headquarters has a number of unique rooms seen, mentioned, or deducted in the film. These include personal offices, briefing rooms, and rooms for other general amenities, and are as follows:
The ZPD has a range of species working in the department and leans towards the larger mammal species such as lions, hippos, cheetahs, rhinos, elephants, polar bears and wolves. This resulted in indifferent treatment towards smaller animals such as Judy Hopps who became the first rabbit cop due to Lionheart's Mammal Inclusion Initiative. Even though Judy graduated valedictorian of her police academy class, she faced a dismissive attitude from Chief Bogo who valued real world experience over academy learning and makes her a meter maid due to his belief that Judy, as a small mammal who was only assigned to District One as a political stunt, wouldn't be able to be an effective police officer. Fortunately, this attitude seems to have abated once Judy and Nick solve the missing mammal case.
Chief Bogo gives Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde their assignments at the Zootopia Police Department. The forensics room is where the clues of each case are analyzed by Hurriet and explained by Clawhauser to help find the suspect.
In the ninth case of the game, the Zootopia Police Department plays a big part as a crime scene in a case which Chuckles escaped from prison and ransacked the place.
Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde are the first of their respective species (rabbit and fox) to become police officers for the Zootopia Police Department.
During the meeting at the end of the film, Judy and Nick share the same chair due to its large size.
All the wolf officers wear a ZPD shirt and shorts instead of a police uniform.
During Judy's first bullpen at the ZPD, there are two hippo officers named Higgins shown. The first is standing at the front of the bullpen and announces Chief Bogo's arrival and is later seen standing to Bogo's left as he makes his announcements. There's also a hippo officer sitting right behind Judy who rises when Bogo assigns the Tundratown team of "Higgins, Snarlov, Trunkaby".
